History of Airsoft

Airsoft guns first originated in Japan. Airsoft guns were created in Japan, so the people could own something like a real gun. Because of this airsoft guns were created as replicas of real guns. They felt and looked exactly like the real thing. The firearm laws in Japan were so harsh it was impossible to own a real one.
Airsoft guns were perfectly legal to own because they could not shoot lethal ammunition. They could only fire non-lethal plastic bbs. Not long after airsoft rifles were created, the sport of airsoft began. It quickly grew in other countries as well. Airsoft became very popular for all gender and ages. Many different types of airsoft games were invented, such as free-for-all and tactical millitary strategies. Airsoft rifles are used alot in police and millitary training. Only a small amount of airsoft rifles are used for this.
There is many different types of airsoft gear that are used in the sport of airsoft. Some of the airsoft gear that is used is tactical vests, pants, boots, and face masks. There are many other types of gear.
Airsoft is a very popular and easy sport to learn. It can be played with nearly anyone. The cost of airsoft is also generously less expensive than paintball. Airsoft is beginning to take off and is becoming very popular across the world.

Airsoft Vs. Paintball

My ZimbioBlog Directory & Search engineblog search directory
Top Stories
Whether paintball or airsoft is better, no one will ever know. It is highly debated across the world. They are very similar, but paintball is known for its fast pace of the game and the hard hits of the paint balls. Playing airsoft relies more on team strategy and tactics.
The difference between the guns are quite different. Airsoft guns are highly popular because they are very realistic replicas of real military weapons. They are also a little cheaper than paintball guns. One of the main differences between a paintball gun and an airsoft gun is that a paintball gun has a hopper, where the paintballs are poured in. Airsoft guns use clips which look more realistic than the hoppers. Unloading and loading clips make it an easy process. Extra clips are very light to carry, unlike carrying big cylinders full of paintballs.
To start paintballing or airsofting it costs around the same price. In the long run paintballing is going to be more expensive. Airsoft BBs are alot less expensive than paintballs. Also it would cost alot more to get a paintball gun fixed than a airsoft gun. After initially buying the gun everything else for both sports is relatively cheap. Airsoft guns have a lonnger range than paintball guns. Airsoft guns usually average between 250fps to 600fps.
The ammo used in the game is paintballs and 6 mm airsoft BBs. These games are usually played in woods or in an open field. If you are playing in a woods a paintball will have a good chance of breaking going through bushes. An airsoft BB is so small the probability of it going through all the brush is pretty good.
Airsoft guns are more accurate, so airsoft games end much quicker. Players would easily be able to see a paintball coming and duck out of the way. An airsoft BB is way to small to see coming traveling that fast, and would be almost impossible to avoid.
Airsoft guns are a lot easier to move around with. They are lighter than paintball guns. Paintball guns are hard to manoeuvre with because they usually have a CO2 tank hanging off the back of the gun. The hopper on a paintball gun can also easily get in the way.
When playing paintball it is very easy to see when a player is hit because the paintball explodes all over them. When a player gets hit in airsoft it is very hard to tell unless they have a mark. Players must be honest when playing airsoft because there is no way of telling if you get hit or not. They do have airsoft BBs in paintball form, that do explode when you are hit. These are rarely used.
Whether you like to paintball or airsoft it is just an opinion of what you like. Both have there advantages and disadvantages.

Automatic Electric Airsoft Guns

My ZimbioBlog Directory & Search engineblog search directory
Top StoriesAn automatic electric airsoft gun can be the funnest gun to shoot. You can just pull the trigger once, and let the BBs fly. Many people choose an automatic electric for the thrill of shooting many BBs at once. A very popular example of an AEG is the ICS M16 A3 full stock.
A battery is used to propel the BBs out of the gun. They need to be recharged about after 30 minutes of continuous shooting. Knowing this you should always make sure to have extra batteries with you. It should take you about three hours to fully charge a battery, but it will change depending on the type. These batteries are fully hidden inside the rifle, and can be easily taken out when need to be charged.
The magazines that are used for these guns vary in size. They usually come with a large one that can hold between 300-500 BBs. Loading these magazines with BBs is very easy. Most of the come with a flip-up door that allows you to refill them really fast. During an airsoft battle it is very important to have reloading a magazine down pat.
Most AEGs have a mounting rail on them where you can mount an laser sight or optical scope. They aren't used much when your are shooting in automatic because instead of aiming you can just shoot a spray of BBs all over.
Most AEGs have a feature called an adjustable hop-up. This allows you to control the velocity at which the BB is coming out of the gun. You can adjust it to increase the spin, which allows it to come out faster. You can also make it come out slower. AEGs are the most popular gun in the airsoft world today.

Airsoft Gun Safety

My ZimbioBlog Directory & Search engineblog search directory
Top Stories
It is very important to be safe if you are playing with airsoft guns. They are not just toys. They are made to have fun with, but while using them you must also be safe. If you follow these simple guide lines you can have a safe airsoft battle, and still have fun with it.

  1. First off every gun comes with an orange tip that the manufactures put on. This shows that the gun is not real. This orange tip must never be removed by the owner or anyone else.
  2. When firing the gun you should always know what your target is. When not firing the gun the safety should always be on. Treat it like a real weapon for there could always be people walking around you without eye protection, or the proper safety gear.
  3. When trying to protect your face from flying bbs at the least you should wear safety glasses. The safest the thing would be to wear a full face mask. This not only protects your eyes, but your entire face.
  4. The BBs fired from airsoft guns are plastic and hard. When playing you should at least wear a long sleve shirt and pants for long distance combat. This will minimize the sting of the BB to almost nothing. Once the BB travels 100 feet out of the gun the velocity significantly goes down, and will usually just bounce off the target. For close combat I would use a tactical vest and gloves. This close up the velocity of the BB is much higher, and will sting alot more. Gloves are often seen as unimportant, but getting hit in the hand can sting more than most parts of your body.
If you are a begginer in airsofting I would suggest buying a cheap and simple gun at first. A lot of people just start out with an airsoft spring pistol. These guns will not have near as much velocity as an electric or gas gun. As you become more experienced I would reccomend moving up to more of an expensive gun.

All About Airsoft Guns

Blog Directory & Search engineblog search directory
Airsoft guns first originated in Japan. It was around 1980 when the first one came out. These guns are the newest technology of toy gun replicas. Airsoft guns hit the market big worldwide because people liked how they were exact replicas of the real guns. The reloading process and their weight are like the real gun they are replicating. These airsoft guns can propel BBs anywhere from 30-260 meters per second for spring airsoft guns or gas guns.
It can be very difficult picking out the right airsoft gun because there are so many different ones in the market. You must choose a gun that fits your needs, and one that you like. Some things to keep in mind when picking out an airsoft gun are:
  • Capability
  • Cost
  • FPS
  • RPM
  • Maintenence
  • Functionality
There are three different types of airsoft guns. The most popular one is the electric airsoft gun. It is powered by a rechargable battery. There is many different batteries, and you must make sure you buy the right one for your airsoft gun. These guns are the most popular, but they are also expensive. There is also a gas airsoft gun. These guns have the most power out of the three. The BBs are propelled by the pressurized gas. One disadvantage of these guns is that every time you need to play airsoft, you also need gas. That requires a trip to the store every time. The last time is an airsoft spring gun. This gun is the least popular out of the three. They are neither automation or semi-automatic. After every time firing you need to recock the gun to shoot again. Having to do this slows down your shooting time significantly.
If you are still not sure on what kind to get think of what you are going to be using it for. If you want it to have precise accuracy you should think of getting an airsoft spring gun. If you want it to have an airsoft war with your friends you should probably think of getting an airsoft electric gun or a gas gun.

Maintaining Airsoft Guns

All different types of airsoft guns should be maintained, so the gun doesn't jam or even get damaged.

What to do to Maintain all Types of Airsoft Guns
First when you are done using you should clean the barrel with a cleaning kit made for airsoft guns. You should especially do this if you were using it in a sandy environment. Don't use any other BBs other than the recommended ones for your gun. If possible use high polish BBs to prevent jam on your airsoft gun. Only use new BBs for your airsoft gun. Don't pick up BBs that are already used because the dust can make your barrel dirty, and jam your airsoft gun. If you encounter a jam in your airsoft gun, stop firing immediately. Fix the jam before continuing to fire. To save the life of your spring in the magazine remove all BBs when you are done using the gun. Keep you airsoft gun as dry as possible. You should lubricate your airsoft gun with 100% silicon oil. Do not use oil. You could use the UTG Airsoft Cleaning Silicone Spray for silicon oil. You should lubricate your gun every 1,000-3,000 shots if you are using an airsoft gas gun. If you are using a spring or electric airsoft gun you should lubricate every 3,000-6,000 shots.

Maintaining An Electric Airsoft Gun
To get a full charge out of your battery you should discharge the whole battery before recharging it. Also before you store your battery you should discharge the battery. Remove your battery from your airsoft gun before you store it away. Charge your battery right up til its full, then take it off. You do not want to overcharge your battery other whys you could damage it. Using an overheated battery will damage your gun. You should never fire your gun for over 6 seconds at a time. You should never change the mode of your airsoft gun while firing. Once you are done you should change the mode to semi-automatic, and fire a few more rounds. This will help decompress the gear box spring.

Maintaing An Airsoft Gas Gun
When releasing gas from your gun don't use the release valve because this will cause the O-ring to freeze, and gas will leak out your gun. You should leave enough gas in your magazine to fire one or two shots. To ensure you have a little amount of gas empty the magazine completely, and then fill it for one second. If you have a completely empty or full magazine it could damage the seal on the magazine.

Different Types of Airsoft Guns

Airsoft guns are divided into three main categories: Airsoft Spring Gun, Airsoft Gas Gun and Electric Airsoft Gun (AEG).

Airsoft Spring Gun:
The airsoft spring gun is usually the cheapiest of the three different kinds of airsoft guns. It can get expensive if the airsoft gun runs a high FPS. Many airsoft snipers are spring-loaded. They are also very simple to use, and are very durable. They don't require much maintence. Before every shot a spring gun must be cocked, which isn't very good if your in an airsoft battle. The main advantage of these types of guns is that you don't have to worry about running out of an external source, such as gas, battery, or air. A good example of an airsoft spring gun would be an Airsoft UTG Type 96 Black Sniper with Scope.

Airsoft Gas Gun:
The airsoft gas gun is run on pressurized gas that is used to propel BBs. Out of the three categories this is probably the most powerful gun. The two most used gases to propel the BBs are green gas and HFC-134a, and some less common gases that are used are red gas, nitrogen, and CO2. Some airsoft gas guns require more powerful gases, so when buying make sure you know. If you use the wrong type of gas it could be harmful to your gun. Airsoft gas guns have some features like adjustable velocities, and blowback features. It can even be turned into semi-automatic and automatic guns. Most of airsoft gas guns are pistols, but there are still other types of guns that are run on gas. An good example of a gas airsoft gun is the Marushin 8mm M500 Shotgun.

Electric Airsoft Gun:

Electric airsoft guns were developed in Japan, and are the most used airsoft gun. They are run by an electric motor that propels the BBs outward. Usually a rechargeable battery is used to power the electric motor. There are many different types of electric airsoft guns including: automatic (AEGs), hybrid, low powered (LPEGs), blowback (EBBs), mini, and pistols (AEP).These types of guns are good for close combat airsoft battle. They can have a rate of fire of 1000 per minute. A good example of an electric airsoft gun is the M15A4 Rifle.
